I Bought this camera after reading extensive reviews over the internet. My son kept borrowing my last camera, so I finally gave it to him and bought the Canon. It takes very sharp pictures and is relatively easy to operate. The main issue I have is that there was no instruction manual included and some functions are not intuitive. Other than that…its great.
This is an excellent little camera for someone not brilliant at photography. Simple to use, great picture quality and and easy to carry around.
I previously owned a Canon Powershot SD450 for 3 years. This summer my lens would no longer retract and I got an E18 error message. Rather than spend a lot of money trying to repair it, I decided to buy a new camera. After debating between a Nikon Coolpix and the Canon Powershot SD1200IS, based on customer reviews I went for the Canon. Im really glad I did. The camera was inexpensive, its easy to use, lightweight, and takes great pictures. I went hiking in the mountains on a day when the sun kept coming in and out of the clouds. The camera would automatically adjust itself depending on how much light the sun was omitting. My pictures look super! I was also to take a nice picture in a dimly lit restaurant. When I want to take a quick picture, I dont have to worry about fooling with the lighting, the camera automatically does the work for me. If I could ask for any improvements, I would have liked a little more zoom, but overall the camera is great.
